Minolta SLRs are always value for money. Nikon or Cannon have their very strong points too. Dynax 5 is a new camera with loads of features you will need for your learning curves. Has features for beginners to serious/advance photographers. It is not a pro spec body (die cast metal) but with skill and creativity, u can produce pro results. Remember that it is a fairly small camera which is good for the small hands.

Save money by buying this camera as compared to similar spec models from cannon/nikon and use the extra money to buy lenses/ good tripod/ filters/good bag for protection and developing films. U can go to library to borrow books on photography equipment, read magazines and compared more models before investing. Visit my website http://geocities.com/jkhw73/, I have links for sites which offers advises on buying SLR sytems and equipment. Good luck.
