Jumpers across the hinge of the points on Peco.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Wiring for DCC : One Thread

In Alan's section on turnouts, he has optional wiring instructions for Peco turnouts. He says to put jumpers "across the hinge of the points". My question is where to place the jumper. My first attempt was to put them on the outsides of the rails. The problem is that this prevents the turnout from moving easily. (I've removed the center spring so I can use a slow motion switch machine. Machine cannot push the bar completely to one side.) Can anyone tell me where the jumpers should go?

If you are finding that your switch machine is having trouble moving turnouts with jumpers (bonds) across the hinge of the points, The easiest thing to do is to drop feeders to the points themselves rather than put a bond across the hinge of the points.

Sorry I couldn't answer your question sooner. The Q&A Forum server was having problems a few days ago.
