I have a 1.16GB MPG file. How do I burn that to CD?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have converted a AVI file into an MPG using some encoder software but the file is obviously larger then any burnable CD. What can I do to split this file up into equal parts for burning. I have Nero 5.5 but don't know if it is smart enough to split the information across multiple CD's Any help would be appreciated.

Use the software VCD cutter. Free trial version is available in www.download.com

File>MPEG tools>merge & cut in TMPGenc (www.tmpgenc.net) is just as good and free.

You can also use the TMPEnc and use the MPEG Tool. Go to Cut and Merge, select the duration of the Video (start and End points) and select an output file. Then you will have 2 MPG files. By the way the software is a freeware as long as you use VCD format. If you useing SVCD format it will work for 30 days. Link: http://www.pegasys-inc.com/e_main.html

You can use a freeby called DVD Shrink load the files then use the re -author to select the main movie highlight it and drag it across then use back up to save to a new folder this will reduce the size or you can use full disk and manualy select custom size to get it down hope this helps terry.
