r 50 cron and the 2x (non APO)

How does this combination hold up for portraits (wide open at f/4 effective) and landscape-static shots (stopped to f/ 5.6-11 effective)? Enlargement is usually less than 8x, but sometimes as large as 10x (digital and digital contact prints).

I'm thinking this would be a real nice mini kit with a 24 thrown in when needed ( I like to travel lite).

thanks,

It will give you decent performance (I've used that combo a few times in a pinch)but you can get a 3-cam 90/2.8 Elmarit for about $150 more than the 2x non-APO and a 1st-version 28/2.8 for about $200 less than the 24, plus the weight savings would make up for the 90/2.8 vs the 2x, and a 28 is a better one-and-only wideangle than the 24 since you don't carry a 35. Just my opinion of course.
