Book on scanning techniques

Can anyone recommend a good book on scanning? My main interest is high quality scanning of MF although I do also use 35 mm occasionally.

Tony,

Try the Dan Burkholder book on making digital negatives. It has really good information about scanning.

Tony, for about a month I've been reading Tim Grey's DDQ (Digital Darkroom Questions) and I believe it is excellent. Tim Grey is the computer brain at George Lepp Photo, and the DDQ is a free daily email where Tim answers questions about Scanning film, Printing with inkjet printers, and using Photoshop. He is very familiar with scanners like the Nikon Coolscan 8000, which will scan P67 film, as well as other medium format sizes, and 35mm.

To subscribe and receive the daily emial, send an email to mailer@leppph_oto.com and put SUBSCRIBE DDQ in the subject line. When you get the first email you will see instructions for submitting a question for Tim to answer. Just to repeat, it is free. Bob

Thanks for the comment regarding my DDQ e-mail service. I ran across this and just wanted to clarify that to subscribe you can send an e- mail to mailer@leppphoto.com with the subject SUBSCRIBE DDQ. There was an errant underscore in the e-mail you provided. You can also read more about the service, or sign up, at www.greyworld.com/ddq/.

Thanks,

Tim Grey
