The secret to success

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

I'm surprised that no one seems to have noticed that OK's success at the short-O' champs just happened to coincide with the fact that the entire OK coaching staff was on hand for the event.

It also should go without saying (though I'll say it anyway...) that top coaches know how important it is to adapt to the given situation, and that sometimes, as Swampfox so ably demonstrated, the best coaching is just staying out of the way.

I'd like to thank the coaching staff. They apparently did a wonderful job. I won my category but didn't have the fastest time for any leg in my category! I was hoping for a top 3 finish and to have a good run. I'm still not running very well through the woods but I'm getting in a little better shape. The best job by the coaching staff has to be Mary's performance. She had a PR in min/km in a technical and physical area that we midwesterners don't get a lot of practice in. Congrats Mary. Now if the coaching staff could have just worked on day two performances.... other than just concentrating on Spike so heavily.
