A thoughtful wish

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

A thoughtful wish upon a star, will get the children ne'er so far

As wishes wished upon the back, of those who, working, pick up slack

and dig the gardens for to grow, the seeds of labor, which do sow

the crops of love, their harvest: hope

As rain falls on the misanthrope

Just a little poem I wrote to remind us all of the simpler things in life, and labor.

Well, thank you, Gail, Marylu, and Kathy, for your comments and compliments. I am truly glad that you enjoyed my poem. Yes, I just "whipped it up," actually, and with a little grace, hopefully more will come to enjoy it! MaryLu, I would love to read some of your poetry. My name is not really Eugene, but that is a sort of "nom de plume" as they say in La France, by which monicker i contribute to this forum. On a lighter note, I was actually surfing the world wide web a while ago, and came accross this site : http://www.justforcatholics.org/answers.htm I haven't had the opportunity to look at it all yet, but I intend on exploring it further. If anyone would like to search this website, and get back to me with your thoughts and queries, that would be wonderful! Good- night all, and thanks again!

eugene (magnificentextravaganza),

The site you mentioned is an anti-Catholic site that attempts to debunk the Catholic faith. I read three "answers" and found all three had half truths and some lies. Also, whenever he mentions the early Church fathers disagreeing with Catholic doctrine, he never gives any examples.

Dear Eugene,

I write prayes, poems, and whatever comes into my mind. I will share some of them on this site. I love when I am guided by the Holy Spirit to write because the words just flow so easily and naturally, and I know I am just being used as an instrument to get these words on paper.

Writing is my passion, although I have not written anything in quite a while.

I pass them on at the appropriate time when someone can benefit from my words (or the Holy Spirit's words) MaryLu

Yes, thank you MaryLu, I look forward to reading some of your work! And Glenn, I apologize if you felt that the site I offered was antagonistic toward you. I will further investigate it. Good night all!

Eugene,

The "JustForCatholics" sight is using DECEPTION as a way to convert its followers. Think about it. Why are they JUST targeting Catholics? AND why is their website called "JUST FOR-Catholics" When in reality they're just AGAINST CATHOLICS. If Catholics had a website called "JustForJews" and it was really a website debunking Judaism and converting Jews to Roman Catholicism, wouldn't it be a bit deceptive, wouldn't it make Jews angry.

Why doesn't their webite read "DebunkingRomanCatholicism" or "Baptists Seeking to Convert Catholics"?

Did Jesus preach Deception? Is DECEPTION Christ like????

My biggest question-and Cult Expert Rick Ross agrees with me- is : Why can't these people be STRAIGHT FORWARD with what their website is about?
