For a research paper my teacher thinks i should take a different approach my talking about gothic and horror in Poe's writing! I need help really bad!!!!! Please, if you can help it would be great!

Different than what? Generally Poe was influenced by a genre already in existence from the German Romantics. Besides the obvious stock and trade that is still common today Poe added more of his own artistry. Sometimes he casts a little fun at his own and the reader's fascination with horror.(The Premature Burial). "How to Write a Blackwood Article" is a good essay by Poe to read at www.eapoe.org.
