Had over 200 "rounds" of quality training down the range today. But I did not have to go there. Now how could this be? Those of you that´s been around for a while might remember that there was a lot of talk about air rifles just over a year back. And I finally got around to my own. Brought it out of the safe, installed the original scope and went "sniping". Man, is this fun! No cost for ammo, no need for ear protection and just plain amusement. I got out all of my ordinary equipment (xept bipod), placed it on the lawn and had a go. Half an hour later I found that when getting out of prone, you really have a stiff neck! And the weeds where a lot shorter than they used to be. "Distances" was everything from 5 yds to 45. And with a slow bullet, trajectory come into play too, as does wind drift calculations. After this, I decided it was time to improve my off-hand skills a bit (neccessary, I´d say). Again, the same rifle served me well, putting the bulets where I wanted them WHEN I DID MY PART! Wich is exactly why this is an easy, fun and very good complement to the full-power loads at the range: It pays off in the end. Now fellas, let´s dust foo thoase air rifles. Thery´re wort the trouble.

This is not a living thing but try shooting an asprin at 40 yards, it's pretty fun beacause they break apart after you shoot them with a pellet. I only shoot them at 20 yards though.

Hi guys! Yeah, shooting dragonflies is quite a challenge. I've only hit one once in about 120 rounds. Blew his head clean off at about 20 feet away. No shortage of them here, or squirrels either. Any other good suggestions for challenging targets?

Too true. There's no shortage of dragonflies around my part of the globe. Now there's a challenge when it comes to hitting a moving target. To date my score is 4 dragonflies in about 1000 pellets!!

One way to kill a few hours now and then.

I am 16 years old and I too have used pellet rifles to improve My shooting skills.On some windy days i'll sit outside with My "weapon" and ammo for hours.I'll see just how many pecans I can bust off of the swinging branches.
