camera insurance

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

Hi there I am looking for camera insurance for a months holiday in europe or for a normal insurance company that will pay out enough to cover what my camera costs as the bigest pay out i can find for 1 item is £200 and my camera cost more than that. Can anyone help. I don't want to pay for year long camera insurance as i can't afford that (student that i am) Thanks Stephie

Stephie, just a thought . . .

Can you insure it as a rider on your parents' homeowner policy?

Stephie-

Being in exactly the same situation you are, a student in the UK, I looked around hard for an insurance deal that would cover my camera equipment (around £3500 worth of Canon gear) as a student, but more specifically when I travel, especially since I take trips longer than the 45 day maximum stipulated in most insurance policies.

The answer was one surprisingly close to home for a student. Endsleigh offer some very good photographic policies at very reasonable rates.
