HI, can I use the MAGNIFIER M 1.25x on a M3 body? Thanks!

Yes,

But you will end up with a 0.91 x 1.25 = 1.1375 magnification finder.

So a tad more than 1 to 1...

As the magnifier was destined to current M production, the resulting amplification with the 0.85 model is 1.0625 (so practically 1 to 1)...

I don't know if the over magnification you'll obtain with an M3 is something really useful, unless you use the magnifier only with tele- lenses from 75 mm.

i find it very useful on the m3 for critical fcus. i am spoiled by my iiig which has about a 1.5x mag. the low mag of the m cameras comes as quite a shocj after using something like a iiig for a while. (heck, you mite try 2 magnifiers on the m3 -- that would get you to something close to barnack camera mag).

2 magnifiers? How much darker would the finder be?

i saw a stack of four or five (as a joke i guess) on an m6 at the pma show. it was easy to see the patch!! i'm sure there was darkening, but my immediate reaction was not "it's too dark to focus." i didn't think about that aspect at all. someone on the LUG a while back opined that the magnifiers pass 90% of the light. you do the math.
