Camera Insurance

Hi I realise this is not a photography q but i have looked everywhere for camera insurance for my holiday to no end. Normal insurance companies have a max pay out of £200 per item and my camera is worth more than that so i am looking for some insurance that will not cost me a fortune, that will cover me for a month in europe.Im in the uk. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Steph

Stephie, I recently went round this problem with my own camera gear. It looks expensive to get a separate camera only policy so I looked around for a Home policy that could be extended to cover stuff up to £1000 inside and outside the house. I ended up moving insurance policy (same insurer - CGNU) and putting camera gear on as named items. Mine is in effect for the whole year though rather than a month. Have you talked to your home contents policy company - they are normally pretty good at finding a solution that works esp. if you end up paying more money !

Best regards

Dave
