Kudos to Tom Abrahamson...

Sent my 2nd hand Rapidwinder in to him because it tended to skip at the end of its stroke. Tom fixed it (new clutch), sent it back via air mail. Cost was nil, zip, nada, niet, like kissin' yer sister (nuthin'!).

Total turn around from send out to receipt two weeks.

Tom is recovering from a serious illness - - and those of who know him, either directly or otherwise, were praying for him during that period. He is a true artisan, and he treats his Leica customers with respect, and on a one-on-one basis.

We have one of his Rapidwinders and two of his handgrips. Beautifully machined and assembled. Best in class!

I hope all is well with Tom. I recently received 4 Softies from him and his sweet wife. And have on order a glossy black Rapid Winder for my Black Paint M6. It will be some time before he fills all the back orders, but he should not push to hard. We Leica folk are all patient ( look how long we waited for the M7! ). Take your time Tom, and for Gods' sake stay well...we need you and your innovative ways.

Dear Friends,

I second the motion. Yes, Tom and Tuulikki are generous artisans and terrific people. I have had similar experiences as Charles and many other Leica users. When you get a Rapidwinder, a Rapidgrip or a Softie you also get friends for life. That also includes the Abrahamsson cat, Mr. Barnack.

And the nice thing is that the Abrahamsson Leica stuff is very good and there is no need for batteries. Soon there will be a Rapidwinder for screw mount Leicas on the market. The new Mini-Softies are GREAT.

Tom was seriously ill last year but he is fine now and quite up on his work. You need not be shy about ordering the Rapidwinder of your dreams.

Best,

Alex

I have also had a great experience metting Tom and Tuulikki, not to say about their RW (favulous, great!), I had the oportunity to disamble it on his direction, and rapid winder is a great pice of minimal engienering. Is so good to read he is on better health.
