Mary WINS!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

Mary won today's F35 US Short Champs! She had a good race and finished first by about 30 seconds. Very cool!

I haven't seen the other OK results because we left the meet site before most results were posted. When we left, Dan was leading M40, I was middle of the pack in M21 (I had a pretty lousy run). We were still hoping for good results from Peggy, Nadim, Dick and Nancy.

We'll get more results at tonight's award ceremony where Mary will pick up her GOLD!

Spike phoned in to say that not only did Mary win, but Snorkel and Peggy also both won their age classes!

Congratulations to all 3 OKers! We look for great things in the relays next September. The aforementioned OKers were also leaving the meet site for ice cream. I think even Snorkel deserves a scoop or two after this coup!

Mook, where are we on the plans to expand the OK Hall of Champions? The trophy room is getting crowded. Congrats to the new champ and the repeat champs!

Mary reasserted her hard won O' dominance at 8120 NW Terrace at the Short Champs this past weekend, saying: "I pretty much reasserted my hard won dominance this past weekend which I first wrested away from Spike last Fall. I guess you could say that when the going gets rocky, I get going. Plus I am awesome in charcoal terrace terrain!"

According to Spike however, Mary's dominance in the results of late has come about only because "she's been unfairly messing with my mind by reminding me repeatedly each time before I go out to race that I shouldn't blow out my knee again."
