Are there any beekeepers here? If so, what do you strain your honey with?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Style Homesteading : One Thread |
I 'robbed' my hives of just one frame (couldn't wait)--I strained my honey with a strainer-it still had lots of tiny pcs. of comb in it. So, I restrained it with cheese-cloth and it looks better. Just wanted to know what process you all used when you so when I do the havesting, I won't have to do it twice! Thanks for the help!

I use cheesecloth, over a strainer,,just lay it inside the strainer. ALot depends on the honey also, heard some places they use coffee strainers

Pantyhose (preferably new) works pretty good.

Cheesecloth on strainer. Of course started with am extractor, warm the honey works best for the strainer, done both ways.
