Which eye do you use to look through the viewfinder? Is there anyone that looks with the left eye?

I look through the finder with my left eye. I do it without any concious decision - the camera feels more stable and supported against my face that way. -Ollie http://www.web-graphics.com/steinerphoto

My right eye had always been my "good" eye. With age I discovered my eyes had reversed. My left eye can now focus better. I'm still getting used to it. So far not a problem with the wind lever, thumb- in-the-eye, etc.

I always use my left eye. It is only half blind, my right one being 3/4 blind. The best eye to use (whichever one that happens to be) apparently also has something to do with a good nose position.

L-eyed, R-handed

Ditto. Handedness and eyedness are -- statistically speaking -- not connected. I'm also R-handed but L-footed.

I used to shoot with the right eye but switch to the left when the astigmatism on the right got too bad and found that my pics improved by a huge margin. I'm not talking focusing here since i was using an AF Canon then. The pics just look much more well thought out. I cannot explain why, maybe someone here can. BTW i'm right handed and R-footed.

Strangely enough, I'm left eyed with SLRs, but I useually prefer my right eye with Leica-type rangefinders. I find that RF shooting is more natural and easier with a right-eyed technique.

Why do you ask? I'm left eye dominant but due to deteriorating eyesight, force myself to use the right eye for focusing. It's a little easier for me to use crank wind cameras now as I dont have to lower the camera to wind film.

Strongly left eye dominant--thats one reason why I prefer screw-mount Leicas--the film advance know doesn't hit me in the face like a lever.

make that 'knob'-not 'know'.Sorry:-).

My right eye is dominant so I can keep both eyes open if I use my right eye for the finder. I can view left-eyed but then I have to keep my right eye closed.

Right eye for horizontals, left for verticals. Holding the camera way up above my forehead for right-eye verticals eye feels weird.

Right eye dominant and extremely left handed. I find the M to be designed perfectly for this combination. I focus with my left hand and use my right hand for trigger control.

I usually don't look thru the finder with either eye. It's a lot faster that way.

Fendy: Left eye and left-handed.

Always left eye though I am right handed. Don't know why; using the right eye just seems unnatural.

Let's be honest here, a few people on this site, judging by their photography skills close both eyes when taking a picture.

Talking about yourself again Phil.try opening at least one eye.
