God's Gifts

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Hi Folks,

I'd like to share with all of you an e-mail I received today.

God's Gifts

I asked for strength - And God gave me difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for wisdom - And God gave me problems to solve.

I asked for prosperity - And God gave me a brain and brawn to work.

I asked for courage - And God gave me danger to overcome.

I asked for love - And God gave me troubled people to help.

I asked for favors - And God gave me opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted - And I received everyting I needed.

I pray that you will receive everything you need!

That is so beautiful, Kathy, thanks. You share such beatufiul posts.

How do you do that "To the top thing?" And, do you know how people type in bold and underline on here?

Hi Mary Lu,

It is a beautiful thing, isn't it. I had to share it.

to the top - after you type in a post/thread, and submit it, go to the column - unanswered questions......then type in top/to the top in the answer box........don't forget your name and address.

The bold and italics and links, I believe it is html formatting. I haven't quite figured out how to do it yet. I'll eventually figure it out. You can type "html formatting" in the search engine, you will find several links on how to use it. I might warn you though, it doesn't look easy!!

Html formatting isn't difficult. For the full version, here is a book on online publishing, by the owner of Greenspun.com.

If you use Netscape, 'ctrl' + 'u' should open a new window with the source code in it. In Explorer, you have to click the 'view' bar and go to 'source code' in the scrolldown menu that then opens. So have a look at the following:

I just started a new paragraph
--and a new line, with some bold type, some italics, and some bold underlined italics.

The real problem is the lack of a preview function here: one wrong character, and the thread looks funny. Plus, the "greenspun bug" sometimes eats the end of your post. I sometimes pray "Lord, give me patience, and give it now" when I try to post here :-)
