Haven't I heard that there is someone who makes a more afforadable one than an actual Leica adaptor? Mr.Gandy has them for $75, but I could swear I've seen "generics" for less somewhere. Can anyone help?
Many thanks.

Try eBay. I've never paid more than $50 for a Leitz adapter.

Stephen Gandy sells a set of three adapters for $100. The ones that he lists for $75 are vintage Leitz items.I have generics, Gandy's, Leitz, and Voigtlander models. I can't tell any difference between the functioning of any of them.

Skip, I was thinking about getting a set from Stephen Gandy, do his generic adapters mount as smoothly as the leitz ones and do the lenses screw into the proper 12 o'clock position?

As I mentioned in my post, I can't tell the difference between any of the adapters that I have, whether from Stephen, Voigtlander, or Leitz.Of course, YMMV. I'm sure that some adapters allow some over- tightening that would place the focusing point beyond 12:00. From pure logic, I'd expect that the older adapters would be worse, i.e. the old Leitz ones.
