Awesome, Barefoot! I'd be delighted to send you some of ours, as well. We have enough! Wish I could get some to Apoc.

Seems the locals have forgotten how to drive in rain.

Barefoot, if it has been that dry for that long, there may be a build up of oil on the roads which would make them more slippery.

We sure have some we would love to share!!! Fields sitting in water, seed rotting in the ground. Looks like one of THOSE years :>( Glad you got some barefoot.

Aside from the oily buildup on the roads, they do forget how to drive in the rain. Just like they forget about turn signals, brake lights, what a red light means....etc.

Do you know why more cars have automatic headlamps standard now? Because these people are too stupid to remember to turn the lights on when it gets dark.

We got a good storm one night late last week. It rained a ton at my house. To bad I can't have it just fill up my well without having to come out of the sky first! Plus, the 80mph winds didn't help.

This week, from Wednesday on, they have rain forcasted each and every day at least thru Memorial Day. Hubby has to take a week trip, thus will not be housebound with me and my son during the bout of rain for the three-day weekend. As much as I love spring showers, I have a ton of outdoor work to be done.

Yesterday, hubby cut down and up a wonderful beautiful old Oak tree that had died. The tree was about 60 feet tall, and the trunk was about 3' in diameter. Hubby fell it perfectly. We'll be getting a bunch of firewood from that sucker. We're thinking about taking a slice of the trunk to make a table for outside (down by the firepit).

Oak tree slices can be very handy and decorative. Glad to hear you will get plenty of use from the dead tree. Many people would just toss it all in the trash.

We had a wonderfully gloomy and wet Sunday. Thuroughly enjoyed it as we sat around inside for the most part watching it. Sometimes heavy, most times light. A good soaking which was needed badly.

I need a nap!

Snow and HAIL midday Saturday, moderate frost Saturday night, light frost last night, could have another tonight... It's the first time I have ever had to cover up the tomato plants. I learned that the local weather forecast, even the real-time cast for my zip code on the Internet, isnt' reliable.

Tree slices--if there's time, cut lots of slices. They can be laid on top of gravel or pebbles for stepping stones. They can get a bit slippery when wet so be careful if you do this.

If you want to control the slipperiness, give em a coat of sealer, and then sprinkle a little sand on em while still tacky. Floor wax will work too.

Brilliant!
