Trade Leica small combination case for Domke F-803 satchel

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Ah...the neverending bag dillema. I have a small Leica combination case in black leather, condition excellent. I'd like to replace it with a Domke F-803 satchel in olive drab. Black is OK as well. Anyone out there interested in a trade? Just thought I'd ask before listing it on a leading auction site.

Email me offline if you're interested.

I love my 803's, wouldn't give them up for anything. For me, it is the perfect bag for the leica system. I have a few of them.

The black tends to get pretty warm in the sun, so I'd go for the olive or tan. They also look a little less like camera bags in the lighter colors, or so I've been told. I'm sure once you get one it will be the end of the bag dilemma.

I got an olive one for present last summer, and eather would give it in exchange, the best for three bodies with itīs lenses 28/35/50, and girls think it looks nice on me, what to do!

Another story in the never ending quest for the perfect camera bag. I have always been a big fan of the extremely well padded LowePro bags. Recently, I decided to change my philosophical approach to camera bags. I purchased an M-Classic bag from an outfit in the Boston, MA area. First, let me explain, the M-Classic is not a padded bag. It is, however a very user user friendly soft bag/satchel with a "pocket" to hold your camera in a ready position and a velcro adjustable divider flap allowing you to customize the interior space. It also has three large outside pockets for storage. It keeps two M6 bodies, 90mm Elmarit-M, Pentax digital spot meter, Sekonic L-358, film, lens hoods, and assorted miscelaneous "stuff". Because it is a soft case, it form-fits around your body, unlike a padded case, and doesn't stick out from your body getting in the way. It's perfect for a "run and gun" style of quick access to your camera's and gear. Philosophically, it's a major change for me regarding my camera bags. I like the bag a lot.

Cheers,

J.
