Felt rather sorry for the Gormans, who I thought were slightly the better team - unfortunately for them they didn't have ZZ.

Ballack, Lucio, Schneider, and the Argie LB, Placente, would look very tasty in b&w.

Enjoyable match. Bayer Leverkusen have played som wonderful football during the tournament and against Real Madrid they showed great team spirit. Zidane is the hero though- what a goal.

I thought Schneider was very tasty. He somehow reminded me of a young Rob Lee. Maybe Lucio is the "Better Than Stam" CB we're after. :o)) I haven't seen anything in Ballack that Robert can't give us (born optomist me) if he was played in a similar position - not that that will ever happen, or it would have when Bellamy was crocked.

Does that make ANY sense??

It's the normal rivalry-via-airhorns in the Barcelona evening air.

Barça fans honking when the equaliser went in, then two cacophonies of horns, bangers, rockets and, by the sounds of things, a small nuclear device. Which set off all of the car alarms.

Then the Barça fans shouting abuse from their balconies.

Ballack is off to Bayern, and Lucio is wanted by Real Madrid. However, being serious now for a moment, I wonder whether we would stand a chance of getting Schneider and/or Placente - imo these are two fantastic players.

Placente is exactly what we need at LB. Schneider can play RB, RWB (where he plays for Germany) or in m/f. He could provide the missing link in our m/f - winning the ball and linking with the attacking players as he is also a good passer of the ball.

Placente was £4m 2 years ago and has a contract until 2005. If we could afford either him or Schneider or BOTH...what a mouth watering prospect!!
