greenspun.com : LUSENET : Middle School Science : One Thread

ONE LAST PLEA FOR ALL UNCERTIFIED TEACHERS OF SCIENCE TO GET YOUR APLICATIONS IN FOR THE CCNY MASTERS PROGRAM ASAP.

Click here for application: http://www.middleschoolscience.org/Download/ccnymasters.doc

IF YOU CAN'T MAKE THE FRIDAY DEADLINE BECAUSE OF TRANSCRIPT PROBLEMS OR WHATEVER, GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN GET YOU AN EXTENSION ON THE DEADLINE.

This promises to be a nice program, and districts (I can only speak specifically for District Six) are working with CCNY on strategies to support those teachers enrolled in the program.

You can also get more detailed information about the program by clicking here:

Summary:

There are two tracks: 1. Those needing initial certification enroll in a 51-52 credit program that includes all the science and education courses you need for the masters and permanent certification as a middle school science teacher.

2. Those who already have state certification in another area enroll in a 37-38 credit program that is predominantly (24 credits) science courses and the rest science education courses and leads to permanent state certification as a middle school science teacher.
