Garden Boots

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Style Homesteading : One Thread

I have found a wonderful pair of boots, actually, they're clogs -similar to what Eliot Coleman wears on Gardening Naturally (don't know if he's still on TLC). They're rubber and are called Ladybug Clogs by Ranger. I got them at TSC. They are comfy and my feet will not get nearly as hot as wearing a full boot, they have nice tread. $14.99 and so far worth every penny.

I have the rubber type clogs too, I love them. I got them in a close out sale last fall for, are you ready? $.99,what a find Huh! The only thing about mine is that if your feet get sweaty then the make a sound like your passing wind ;o) LOL! They are easy to wash off and let dry, if it's muddy :o)

Thanks for the heads up Cindy, must check TSC when I am in town. I get so tired of having to wear my chore boots for garden boots......they are just too hot in the summer and I can't stand the feel of them against my legs.

What's TLC and TSC? These clogs sound great! Can anyone post a picture of them - to link to one on the net?

TLC is The Learning Channel on cable or satelite, which we don't have any more, yes! and TSC is the Tractor Supply Center that bought out Quality Farm and Fleet or is that Fleet and Farm. I can't post a picture.

I just tilled in them, with the gel heal(for the bone spur that's doing better) and they did great. Of course, I'd rather be barefoot, but not here, it's incredible the things in the ground.

Cheryl, go to Yahoo search, Ladybug Clogs, click on Shopping Listing: for, click on either site listed. They both have pictures and higher prices.

I have a pair of these garden clogs too and love them. I just found them two weeks ago at TSC. I ordered mine a couple of years ago from some garden catalog. Mine are a little large though - ordered them to fit with socks on and now when I want to wear them in the middle of the summer without socks, they are a little too lose. Sounds like a good excuse to buy another pair - in another color :-).

Jay... what is SFG???

Square Foot Garden. Four by four foot "square rows" bordered with wood planks and carpet. Sometimes I even take a patio umbrella for shade while I'm weeding :>)

I have clogs but husband slipped them on to do something quick and split the tops so they are kinda useless now. Plus my bare feet sweat and slipped around in them something fierce and also made farty noises when I walked. Still loved them though.

Alison, the Ladybug brand clogs have a removable (for washing)fabric insole that keep my feet from that "squishiness".

Jeffer's supply has the Lady Bug clogs in all colors for 9.99. And yes, they have a washable lining. I have bright yellow ones so I can easily find them in the grass if I kick them off to go barefoot.
