Has anyone else heard Christopher Wests talk on the Theology of the Body? What a powerful insight! I love to see all the connections in the Bible - like Christ as the passover sacrifice of the NT, corresponding to the OT passover sacrifice. (No bones were broken in either case, eating the body in rememberance, etc.). When I heard Christopher's talk, it just became so appearant. Adam and Eve, Christ and the Church, husband and wife. Sexuality as God intended it is SO beautiful. Marriage on earth is suppose to forshadow what our Marriage in Heaven will be like. My have we destroyed it, through pornography, pro-homosexuality (the acts of course), etc. I pray that I may see my fiance with Gods eyes. Anything less is just a cheap imitation of real love, and is undeniably disrespectful. If we can only come close to what it is supposed to be like, we will have pleasure beyond our wildest dreams (good dreams that is!).

I pray that we start to respect women the way Christ respects His Holy Spouse, the Church.

I do not know if the entire "Theology of the Body" is on the web. I do know that portions of Christopher Wests talk are. Just punch in either Christopher West or Theology of the Body and you should find something.

Just wanted to give some input on the Theology of the Body. There are a number of us who meet weekly to study the Holy Father's audiences and also to listen to the tape series by Christopher West. It has been a tremendous blessing in our lives and has helped us to understand the beauty of the Catholic Church's teaching on human life. It is a very good way to grow in your faith and to spend time with the Holy Father.
