EOS-3 fill flash with NON E-TTL flash.

EOS-3 and Sunpak 120J TTL (with canon module)

I want to use this combo for fill flash outdoors.

This is what how I think I should set it. Eos-3 Custom function turned off for auto fill flash. Flash exposure -1 compensation.

The sunpak 120J TTL would be set to plain TTL.

What mode should I have the EOS-3? I don't mind using the Av or M mode.. But I dunno if it will work correct with the flash compensation. I would assume I would have to use P mode.

Would there be a way to auto bracket these exposures? Or would I need a flash that had bracketing?

The switch from minolta to canon has been tough... the flash system on minolta was very easy.

"Eos-3 Custom function turned off for auto fill flash. Flash exposure -1 compensation"

-If this is how you obtained good results with Minolta, it seems like a good place to start. Auto fill flash reduction does seem to work OK in most instances.

"What mode should I have the EOS-3?"

-Any mode will work, and flash exposure compensation is entirely separate from ambient exposure control. Due to sync speed limitation, Tv, M, and P may work better than Av. (with ETTL, Av mode works great because of the ability to exceed 1/200 sync speed).

"Would there be a way to auto bracket these exposures?" - I think the feature would have to be built into the flash, like a 550EX.

These will help:http://photonotes.org/articles/eos-flash/ and http://bobatkins.photo.net/info/faq30/flashfaq.htm
