Cantona is not a shit ????

...and he's not a shiRt either:

Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has hit out at the club's board over his shock exit from Old Trafford in 1997.

The Frenchman walked away from the game while seemingly still at his peak and blames United's desire for commercial success for that decision.

"I signed a contract and they did not respect anything," quotes the Daily Mirror, from an interview with Cantona to be featured on Monday's BBC1 programme The Ferguson Factor.

"At that time they thought that merchandising was more important than the team and the players.

"When the business is more important than the football I just give up, rather than be treated like a pair of socks or a shirt.

"The manager agreed with me at the time."

So, who watched it, any other Taggart revelations?

The John Motson bit was good.

Good bit of TV. Not summat I'd usually watch but I did and it was fun. I thought the J.Motson bit was a piece of TV history. Poor Motson looked shellshocked and I have no sympathy for him.

I think it showed SAF exactly how he is....both sides. The "gonna-get- there-winner" and the "arm-around-the-shoulder" compassionate manager.

Loved the bits about Eric.......yeah...it's safe to say I love all of Eric's bits.

Long live The King

Disappointing actually - much like the book if you believe the literary critics. It basically confirmed what we already knew - that Taggart is control freak and a bad-tempered, unprincipled bully who would screw his granny for a goal in extra time - a bad loser and almost as bad a winner.

The only real revelation for me was the indication that ManU were within two days of appointing SGE as Manager when SAF relented and decided to stay - something I seem to recall LR telling a disbelieving audience on here at the time.

I wonder what SGE and his bosses at the FA made of that particular revelation on the ve of the WC? If true, I also wonder what it tells us about SGE's long term committment to the England job?

i liked the bit where the young player got two rules questions right on the trot, could play a bit and was dead chuffed until SAF came out with 'You're the ugliest player I've ever signed' (pre Chadwick days).

If I were a teacher I'd be using that to all the smart arse truants kids.

Clarky....show me a leader of any worth who is not a loud mouth control freak and a bad loser. BTW..no one believed me when I said Jaap Stam had played his last game for us either.
