Cort against Everton
Luax429 against Charlton
Best goal was Shearer's against Villa

Shearer's against Charlton - for the reaction it provoked.

Shearer's against Villa - one of the best goals I've ever seen.

All of the above. :-)But if I were forced to choose...Shearer v Villa

Technically not the best, I'll admit, but for it has to be Robert's against the Arse at Highbury, for the absolute feeling of ecstasy I felt as it thundered into the net, and the reaction from the Toon Army's travelling hordes, as it made us all realise we were genuine championship contenders. Plus I got a nice big hug from Peter Miller, just before he finished off my Southern Comfort (ooh, err, missus). Still got the ticket stubb for that game pinned above my desk, next to the Spurs stub.

what have you done with your Saints stub Terry?
-- Anonymous, May 13, 2002
To reach the Champions League?

errmmm, Bellamy's against Villa. Lovely ball over the top and Bellamy waited perfectly before turning and driving the ball home without even looking at the goal.

I`m not convinced Bellamy ever looks at goal....

DifficultShearer's against Villa was beautiful. A host of Robert's free kicks were marvelous. Andy O'Brian's equaliser v Arse; it was so unexpected and had me screaming.
But if I had to choose the goal which I will remember forever it would be Shearer's 200th. The emotion in the ground was overwhelming, his delight was so evident.
And actually, it seems to be forgotten, a bliddy well taken goal, too!

In terms of quality it would either be Roberts free kick against Manchester United or Shearers volley at home to Aston Villa. For sheer jumping up down going mental value it would either be Robert's goal at Highbury or Solano's last gasp winner at Leeds.Whilst not best by any stretch of the imagaination goal of the season, a favourite of mine was Shearers late goal against Middlesbrough at the Riverside. A long blisteringly fast run from Robert followed by a crossfield pass to Shearer who, from the edge of the box, absolutely buried his shot into the top corner. A taste of good things to come with Robert and a signal of Al's re-emergence after serious injury.

Geordie, is that a trick question? I think flushed it down the bog after the match. It probably floated.
