Dear St. John of Avila,
Please pray for my father (also named John), whose 80th birthday is today.

John, I will say a special Prayer for your Dad on his 80th birthday. I am sure he is a Holy Man. I can see some of his work in you. :-) You are a blessed man.

God bless you. David

Thanks, David. I consider him a living saint.
Not only has he never been drunk, but I have never even seen him drink anything alcoholic except a glass of wine once or twice a year.
He has never smoked, and I have never heard him use foul language nor cursing nor taking the Lord's name in vain.
Not only has he never been unfaithful to my Mother, but they have never even argued before us five children.
My Dad has never missed Sunday Mass and has attended thousands of weekday Masses.
He prays the rosary, as well as other prayers every day.
He always worked extremely hard on the job, never goofing off and never feigning illness, and he continues to work hard inside and outside his house, even helping neighbors.
He has really been the utmost good example to me, my brothers, and my sisters. I wish that I could have imitated him much better than I have done. I lived a vice-filled life for about fifteen years, not following in the footsteps of Dad (who has followed in Jesus's footsteps).

God bless you.
John
