Home made Filter Holder for Voightländer 15mm 4,5 ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Hi All, Does anyone know of either a accessory filter holder for the Voightländer 15mm f4.5 or a reliable homemade version? I know that I can hold a 55mm or 77mm next to the lens hood (sic) but unless on a tripod this is a pain.. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, F. William Baker

Duct tape? :)

Seriously - I read someplace (maybe on Gandy's site) that you *could* use the filter holder from the CV 12mm, but have to "shim" the outside of your 15 with tape or something to fit it.

I have two adapters to use filters for this lens. The first is one that mounts on the REAR of the lens and holds filters 30.5mm that screw OVER the adapter. It works well. Some folks have mention that adding a filter to the rear element of a lens would efect the optical formula but I haven't noticed any difference. The adapter works very nicely with my Leica If but with a filter attached it won't clear the RF cam on my IIIf.

I also had a plastic collar machined to fit the 77mm filter adapter from the 12mm CV lens. The collar shims the adapter so that it fits perfectly. I can now use 30.5mm filters or 77mm with my 15 CV lens.

The adapters were made by SK Grimes. He does fantastic work!

See his site at www.skgrimes.com.
