I'M BACK! Sorta . . . .

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

My precioussssssss (gollum, gollum) is now back upon my desktop and my fingers are caressing the keys. Everything seems to be working -- now. I had over 120 email messages to download and it kept hanging up on #100. I am subscribed to the local weather stations emergency weather updates, and boy were there a lot of those. Mostly about flooding possibilities. I've reset the counties that it warns me about -- maybe that will cut down on the messages!

Now for the "sorta" part: I have to go out of town for Friday and Saturday, so I won't be able to get on the computer much, if at all. {sigh} I'm such an addict! I want to go to the GardenWeb though . . . I broke down and rented a garden plot again. I was going to spread amendments on it today before it gets tilled up, but it is so windy here, I didn't dare. Watch, they'll till it this weekend while I'm gone. Anyone want to bet against it? ;-)

A tentative "Welcome back". You've been gone so long that I think we should vote on you again! Well, maybe not! Sure hope they got your computer fixed permanently.

Wildman, (voting yes)

I have to be VOTED back in? I think I'll just take my marbles and go home . . . . {stomping out in a snit!}

Okay, confession time -- I tipped over a glass of iced tea (sweetened with honey, OF COURSE) onto the keyboard, which is of course attached the computer because I use a laptop. {sigh} They had to clean it and replace the keyboard (because of the circuitry, I think). 'Twas 'spensive, so don't do what I did! What happened was I set the glass on the edge of the coaster, and so it tipped. I couldn't even blame it on one of the cats! {slinking away in chagrin}

Don't go, Joy!! Here...take some of my marbles...I'm always losing them anyways :-)!!

You're not SUPPOSED to take the blame when something gets spilled on your keyboard...it's always the cat's fault!! You should see me balancing my keyboard on my lap, with my feet on the coffee table while balancing food or drink in both hands!! Then the cats start racing back and forth across the keyboard! Lots of fun :-)!! It's a wonder that I don't have more double entries on the forum. (And we DO have an extra keyboard!!)
