When trying to open an 'avi' file in VirtualDub, it comes up with an error saying 'couldn't locate decompressor from format 'MP43' (Microsoft High-Speed MPEG-4vc) and I can't open the file...why?

Please help!

Answers

I'ts obvious that one needs to have the codec to decompress compressed data. If you can view the file in a media player (whichever) then you have the codec and you'll be able to open the file with virtualdub as well.
