AIS 50mm f1.2 vs. AIS 50mm f1.4

I am interested in buying a 50mm AIS lens for my FM3A. A local camera store rep told me that Nikon sacrificed sharpness with the f1.2 lens to achieve an extra half-stop. He said that the f1.2 lens is inferior to an f1.4 lens in taking slides. Is that a common feeling with Nikon manual lens users?

At F1.2, the piture is softer. It produce the same or better quality picture at F 2.8 and above compared with F1.4 Lens. Great Color rendition at F2.8 and real charp. No so sharp at infinite, F1.4 lens is better for that.
