If you're in Hong Kong, I know there's a M3, fully functional and in excellent cosmetic condition, for sale at just under HK$8,000. Contact Mr. Lee Cho Tat of Panda Camera-Repair Service, Penthouse, Double Building, 22 Stanley Street, Central, Hong Kong. Tel: (852) 2522 9905, 2522 9908. By the way, Mr. Lee and I are not related in any way.

This question got me thinking. I have an M2 and an M3 that I have had for 30 years. A few years back I got an M6 classic. I've been shooting mostly color transparency film for quite a while so the meter on the M6 is appreciated. During the time I've had the Ms I've gone thru Nikon F, Olympus OM and currently have R Leica and EOS slr systems. I don't use the M3 or the M2 that much any more with all that other equipment and day job as mainframe computer consultant. I asked myself if I should sell one or the other or both. Maybe get a TTL or Hexar or R2. Both my Ms are late model 1m+ versions but I can't currently see tha serial # because I have had them taped black with photo masking tape forever except for the few times I've had them serviced by Leica. If I were to try to sell them I would have to at least remove the tape to see the serial #. They are both in great shape. Some years I used them a lot and some years they sat in drawers for months at a time with work, commuting, coaching kids soccer, swimming and basketball. When I get them out and use them I realize how much I like them and how familiar they are. I bought a bunch of newer more modern lenses, I won't call them upgrades necessarily, and sold off some of the older lenses. I guess I'm just really not ready to part company with my M2 or M3 yet.
