cow's tongue. I put it in a clow cooker about 7:30 this morning and took it out about 1:30. Had no idea how long it would take, It's so tender. Now, please, what do I do with it? I think I heard something about eating it cold. Thanks

Peel it if you haven't before cooking. Chill and slice thinly for sandwiches or serve with a cherry sauce or tart/sweet jelly.

Also, if you need to disguise it, grind it, add mayo and pickles, etc, and make a sandwich spread.

If none of these things appeal, you can add it to the hamburger when you butcher.

And you all didn't cotton to my blood pudding story!

I repeat - I do not eat organ meat, and tongue qualifies! However, Lance's uncle swears by tongue - boil it, peel it, and chill it. He didn't mention any sauces or gravies with it, I think he must eat it plain!

Cindy, tongue is pure heaven! Chill it and slice it. A real treat where I come from!

Chop...I'll bet the dogs or cats will love it!!!

My Mother use to boil it, and peel it for sandwiches. We girls learned real fast to never open a hot pot on the stove after school and state how hungry we were at the same time!LOL! It was enough to send all three of us down the road to vegetarianism, but we didn't..... by the way, did you know that Vegetarianism is an old Indian term for "lousy hunter"?! LOL

Well, we ate the tongue, it was good! I like it best with a little horseradish mustard and mayo. Gary thought it a little strange but enjoyed it. Wouldn't mind having it now and then. The dogs and cats loved the peeling, I gave comfrey to the chickens.

Yes indeed, cow's tongue sandwiches. DELICIOUS! Easy on the mayo, little bit of lemonsalt, tomato sliced thin, oh my I'm getting hungry! In Spanish, Lengua (Len gwah) is a delicacy around here. If you got left overs, gimme a holler.
