There is some hot PL transfer speculation ahead of the usual close season activity:

* Freddie Kanoute appears to be on his way out of WHU. Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly prepared to pay £12m having given up on Anelka after PSG insisted on receiving £15m for him.

* Steve McManamananaman is apparently resigned to having to move back to the PL to resurrect his England career. Spurs are reported to be interested.

* Lee Hendry is apparently set to leave Villa for ca. £5m, and take up residence at the former Villa players rest home at The Riverside Stadium.

* Damien Duff's contract talks are reported to have stalled, and a swap deal with ManU involving Dwight Yorke is apparently on the cards.

* Everton are interested in taking on Paul Ince, and are rumoured to be vying with Liverpool for 31 yr-old Brazilian, Sonny Anderson.

* The Toon now seem to be favourites for Brett Emerton providing no one offers Feyenoord more than the £9m they are prepared to pay.

* On the other side of the coin, it seems Barry Ferguson may be staying with Rangers after all.
