Ok...I know there are lots of theories about Poe's death...but so far I've heard only two...Rabies and Beaten up. What are other theories (I'm doing a school project and I'd like to know all the different theories)? Also...why would he have been beaten up? Like, for what reason??

See www.eapoe.org. Rabies is a stretch and not as consistent a diagnosis as alcohol related illness. It was election time and in those days things got pretty rough in the streeets. because of the change of clothes Poe may been pressed into a traveling vote fraud scam called cooping. Worse for wear, plied with drink, but not beaten.

i thnk poe had died cause of all of the drinking he had done.he shouldn't be doing all the drinking and then he will be ok! that is what i think had happened to edgar allen poe!
