Attacks at bedtime

My 2 yr old male neutered toy is a doll and always goes to his crate when he sees me with my purse. All I have to do is give him a treat, shut his crate door and leave. At night, he is let out for his last teetee and he goes straight to his crate BUT for the last 2 weeks, he has decided the crate door will not be shut! The minute you enter his room (utility room) he starts growling. As you approach the door, he starts snapping ferociously and bats the door out to keep you from closing it. I manage to close it but he is so scary and this is only at night. The next morning, he is back to his precious self. This only happens at nighttime.

Any suggestions?

Our three year old male SP behaves differently in the evening. Maybe your guy is ready to have the door open. Of course, aggressive behavior is never a good sign. Our boy has switched from going to bed in the living room to sleeping in my daughter's doorway. The rest of us are nearby her room. Sometime in the night he ends up in his bed. By then, we are all asleep. In the morning, he no longer will go outside at 5:00am with my husband to take a whizz, but moves to where I am sleeping and the door is closed. He waits for me, not bothering to greet my daughter, who gets up when my husband leaves.

I find constantly changing behaviors with maturity.
