Have Arsenal said no to a new contract and would we then benefit from saying yes to this experienced centre half? In 2 years time the Caldwells and the 0'briens of this world would be well and truly ready plus that youngster in the juniors.

I do not think he is the answer, I have seen him play without Adams, but he has not shown the "Take charge" qualities of Adams.

He is a good player, but I feel we need a more communicative Centre Back, one who tells the others what and when and bollox or bollocks them (wherever they come from). He seems to me to be just the "go out and do it type"

He's a hell of a player as well as being very ugly. A few years back I'd have signed him up like a shot. Not so sure now. Especially after Shearer gave him that outstandingly impressive lump on his heed before Xmas :-)
