Currents in zone 5?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I have 1 black & 1 white current. I only got them spring of last year. This spring (though its still early in the season), I think they are getting flowers. Do I need two to get fruit? And if so, will the black & white pollinate each other? I've recently moved from central Indiana to north-west Indiana (close to Illinois border). Is this area (Griffith, Indiana) still zone 5?

Thanks

I'm not sure about the white currants, but I think the blacks need another black to pollinate them. Don't hold me to this, though.
