Does this flash have ETTL as an option (on/off)? If so, when off does Elan 2 use TTL metering like with pop up flash so you still get correct exposure?

It's E-TTL or manual, no other choice. At least not built into the flash. But there are always ways to turn E-TTL off in favor of TTL. I used to use a Canon Hot Shoe Adapter 3 for this. I understand there is a way to cover up one of the four signal pins on the hot shoe to do the same thing. I believe there is an article about it on www.eosdoc.com
