Elmar C 90. Could you please tell me something about this lens, I'm thinking about buying one (about US$400). Thanks! Carlos R.

I purchased one of these lenses last year and have been very pleased with it. Read what Erwin Putts says about it in his "Leica Lens Compendium, page 170. The focussing accuracy is just fine for use with an M model. I think $400US is a little excessive for this lens.I paid $450CAN.

I agree that $400.00 USD is rather steep. I purchased one a few months ago for $350.00 CND (including original leather bag, rear cap and shade), and it is a great lens. Had it checked at Kindermann Canada, and it was OK on my M4-P.

Carlos,

Spend $50 more and get an old 90/2.8 elamrit and you'll be happier.

A fine lens indeed, although $400 might be a tad high, unless it is LN in all regards and with box.

Coupled with a Tri-Elmar there is probably no finer walk around/travel outfit if you don't need speed.

Best,

I also have to agree that this is a very nice lens, but for $400 you should be able to get an elmarit. The Elmar-C should be available (with a bit of looking) from $250 on in nice conditions; I paid for my used example with nice glass about $150 ... so $400 is way to much in my eyes.
