Titus groan

This Titus Bramble for the toon story refuses to disappear. Is a lumbering reserve centre half who can't get into a relegated (almost) side really the final piece in our trophy winning jigsaw?

Whether he's absolutely right for us I really don't know Dave - but he surely isn't as bad as you're suggesting?

He seems to me to be a well-built, young CB with significant potential. He's made some high- profile errors, but may well have been pushed a little too much too quickly and having made these errors has probably lost confidence.

I wouldn't be upset if we signed him as a longer-term prospect, as long as we didn't pay through the nose. However, right now, ie. facing a CL campaign, I really feel we need an expereinced CB to organise our dreadful defence.

O'Brien was a strange choice to buy from a relegation bound team who had a dreadful defensive record. Turned out fine IMO

An Ipswich source of mine went to the same school, Westborne High, as Dyer (4 years behind in the year groups) and went to the same night clubs. She speaks of Dyer with contempt and vitriol as regards his attitudes to women and his big headedness etc. Also told me of four Dyer babies she knows of in his home town

I regret to say that she thinks Dyer is a saint compared to Titus Bramble! :-)

Dreadful to think we hero worship these characters but then it is only the football we are interested in. The above information is entirely anecdotal btw but from a trusted non-football person with no axe to grind.

I must say I love the name Titus. It has a great strength about it. Also useful for the late arrivals game - will you welcome please - Mr and Mrs Aduxars and their stopper centre half son, Titus Aduxars. Eyethenkyou.

I thought someone might bring Andy O'B into the equation Geordie - the significant difference being that Andy was a first choice centre back who was deeply loved by the Bradford faithful. Oh aye and he cost us about a fifth of the amount that is being bandied about for Bramble's signature.

YBR has been quoted as saying he has someone who is 'better than Stam lined up for next season, I'll trust him to get it right - he normally does - but I hope to god it's not Titus.

Cue floodgates opening.

Actually, that's not a bad idea, the last run of the 'Mr and Mrs, and their sprog .....' thread, had me in stitches.

Yes Pit Bill - I think another epsisode of "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" should fill in some time during the close season. :-)

Well, here I go with ammo for the 'eat your hat' thread next April. How on earth can anyone say Bramble is better than Stam. Never in a million years. So we won't be signing him then will we? I have to believe that we have greater aspirations than that. Please Bobby, NO! But then, that's what I said about Craig

For once I agree with you mag rabble. ;o}

He looks good going forward, but he's a liability in defence: slow, clumsy and no positional sense. If he couldn't live with Kilbane on the opening day of the season, and had to haul him over for a penalty (not the last he's conceded this season), it speaks volumes about his ability.

There's no way he's a better defender than your current options.

Mind you, I thought Booby dropped a b0ll0ck when he signed Bellamy.

YBR must be having us on if Titus Bramble is the 'better than Stamm' defender he's talking about. Although I suppose there's the outside chance he might become better than Stamm...hmm..seems unlikely, but YBR obviously rates the boy and has been watching him for quite a while, just as he did Bellamy.

Isn't Bramble going to Bury?

Swift, you're getting your plants and your Lancashire towns mixed up. Did you mean Bramble at Blackburyn?

I didn't want to become entangled in this debate but I hope he's better than that Thorn we had. That was a prick to burst the bubble (as it were) and no mistake.

......there will certainly be a jam for places at CB if Titus does join us! ;o{)

No way! Two mistakes yesterday of Warren Barton proportions (without the hand-clapping ability). The words barge and pole come to mind. So do Tit, @rse and Fumble.
