Not just an exciting team.....

.... but it would appear that we also have not received a single official red card this season in all first team games played (both reds to Bellamy and Shearer were rescinded). In addition to which we have received only 60 yellow cards which works out at less than 1.5 per game. I think that not only will we in the top four of the league but also the top 3 or 4 of the fair play league. Interesting our worst offender is Mr Gobby Gobs**te himself, wor Craig, with 9 yellows closely followed by Robert on 7, our worst defender as an offender, as it were, is Distin with 6.... A clean team that plays an exciting brand of football I would say!

Playing the game as it should be played. I'm pleased our team plays this way - I have no time for the cloggers, cheats and thugs of the game, and where teams play like that and win, there is normally something wrong with the Laws of the Game.

I've always thought this way. When we signed Batty I was concerned about his reputation, but actually in the KK team he was a great player and good to watch going forwards. Under TSM he was ordered to go sideways or backwards and in a losing team he became a thug and a liability. I was very pleased when we sold him.

At it's best it's a beautiful game and it is at it's best without thugs and cheats. The Laws should squeeze these peopole out of the game.

and Bellamy's mouth stopped working after the beginning of December

the best though was Hughes record of two bookings, on efirst day the next in April ? To be in a defensive position where you're supposedly up against flying wingers and not get a few bookings is amazing (mind you Rio hasn't been booked for two or three seasons)

It won't be the laws that clean out the cloggers, cheats and thugs Jonno. That'll happen only when the game goes back to being a sport rather than a business.

Pigs might as well.

Bellamy does still have a red card against him, it was the punishment which was withdrawn, not the card itself.

"Spokesman Adrian Bevington said, "An FA disciplinary commission considered the red card again and have taken the view that the suspension will not be imposed, so Craig Bellamy has been successful in his appeal.""

Basically it's the referee who decides whether or not to withdraw a red card and the ref in question decided after watching the video that the red card should stand. We appealed to the FA whose disciplinary committee actually set punishments for misconduct charges. They decided that although the red card would stand, Bellamy did not have to serve any suspension for the offence. It was all a bit of a compromise since the twat with a whistle could stand by his bizarre viewpoint from the planet Zarkon, the FA could be seen to be fair and Bellamy had a much longer ban hanging over him if he transgressed the rules again. Since his behaviour improved markedly from that point, you could say it was a success.
