LEICA M7: shutter question....when AE mode.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

With the new Leica M7 when you use AE mode I would like to know if the shutter speed is always let's say 1/30th sec or 1/60th sec, or it can be 1/40th or 1/45th ? Thanks. Jean Auger

i think that the speeds are stepless in ae mode.

are the speeds also stepless in manual mode w/the speed dial is set in between.

i also remember being stated that the m6 speeds are stepless except between two ranges (8 and 15, 60 and 125 for example).

i am sure someone will step in and clear this up.

The shutter speeds are stepless in AE mode, but not in manual mode.

The shutter speed of the M7 in AE mode is "nearly" stepless. Ie., it can not assume any value but there are many more programmed values available (eg., 1/33. 1/36, 1/48, etc.)
