May makes me homesick for Preakness Week. So so sad. I haven't been to the Kentucky race, and I'd like to go, but not by myself.

I would love to go the The Derby as well. Just once to be able to dress to the nines with the beautiful hat, etc.

Four years ago or so, we did sit in the Greenhouse of the Grandstand at Preakness, dressed in our finest. Sadly, that was the year that it was about 102 degrees outside and the air conditioning units at Pimlico overheated and blew all the power out to the Clubhouse. Five hours of sitting in what turned out to be true "Greenhouse" seats, as I felt like a limp petunia. Oh, and everyone in the country could bet on the Preakness race that year but the people at the race thanks to the power outage. It sucked rocks.

Ever since then, we sit outside on the Apron of the Grandstand where we can bring our coolers of whatevah the drink of the day will be and watch the ponies run directly in front of us.

I grew up in a famous horse racing town, Saratoga Springs, NY, so I've been to several races both big and small. The biggest races are great people-watching opportunities because a lot of celebrities come up for them. Tom Cruise, Tom Selleck, Mikhail Baryshnikov, lots of other folks.

We are all set for Derby day tomorrow...at the liquor store last night, we found bottles of Early Times Mint Julep. Pre-made Mint Juleps BABY!!! Just add ice and let the races begin!!

Pre-made Mint Juleps is just what I need.

Considering the fact that I just typed the word "poopulation" in my entry in the "Panty Inspector" thread, apparently pre-made Mint Juleps are definitely what I need too. I think I may even have to skip the crushed ice and mint leaves...hell, forget the glass at this point of my week!

Bumping up because of the Preakness this weekend.

Any favorite ponies? Anyone want me to place a bet for them when I go to the race tomorrow?

Anyone give a shit? Would I give a shit if I didn't live in Baltimore?

Every day of May I ask myself that about the Indy 500. My overwhelming feeling seems to be "no."

We have a potential Triple Crown Winnah, my friends! Preakness day was a blast...I am still in recovery. We ended the day up $95 in cash money which was a definite plus-ola!

Did anyone happen to get the Preakness on tape? And if so how much begging would I have to do to get a copy? My VCR picked 4 pm Saturday to die, and all I got was an hour of TV snow!
