4 EASY STEPS TO ORGANIZING THE TUPPERWARE CUPBOARD

After months of opening my cupboard door, and having a hundred tupperware containers, lids, empty butter and yogurt containers come pouring out I decided I HAD to organize this mess! Here's what I did:

  1. I took everything out of the cupboard and set it on the table. While the shelf was cleared out, I wiped it out good.

  2. I matched up each lid to each container. You would be amazed at how many lid or containers just weren't there! Where do those things go to anyway??? I got rid of any mismatches.

  3. With what was left, I seriously thought about each container. If you can put away Thanksgiving dinner and still have zillions of containers left..then you have WAY too many containers! If you have nice tupperware PLUS margarine containers...pick one or the other! Okay, a few small margarine containers are good to have, but you don't need a year's worth. Just what you would need to put away a very large meal. Be willing to part with things! Keep in mind that if you ever do run short there are "real" dishes and foil or suran wrap! It's only a margarine container..not one of your children! Get rid of them! You can always send them off to Goodwill (the containers - not the children!)

  4. Next, decide how you prefer to store your containers - lid on or lids stored seperate. If you have the space, lid on is better. That way it is always together. I don't have the space so I store lid off, but put the lids stacked sideways in ONE box and stack the bowls and containers.

If you follow these 4 steps you will feel so good when it is done! It is so nice to be organized for a change and makes it quick and easy to find just the right container.

When I sold Tupper ware way back when, we were told not to store with lids on. Something about getting out of shape.

I know your not supposed to store thermoses (thermosi?) with lids on them, sometimes when I store t-ware with lids they smell a little funky-stale.

Thanks though, I am trying to get my kitchen in order-this is a good tip! (how did you know I was getting ready to tackle containers in the next day or so?)

Why is it that butter bowls multiply in the cabinet but lids disappear? Maybe they go to the same place socks and gloves go, I have several orphans of each! Mona Lea
