Are you sure? Hardly the big name signings Bobby was on about.

If that's true,I hope the football part of Aki's brain is significantly better than the part responsible for his website ramblings. ;-)

Aki Riihilahti is not a bad player, methinks. A hard working midfielder, regular in the national side, plays a good passing game behind Litmanen. Has a tendency to score huge goals in important matches (e.g. with a header against England 24.3.2001. How come I remember the date, you ask? My daughter, our first child, was born during half-time.) Riihilahti is widely known as a very likeable chap; good sense of humour (e.g. his hugely popular website at www.akiriihilahti.com), loyal to his club and fans, fair play all the way, and also a bit of an intellect. Not your "usual" footballer.

Personally, I would love to see him play for the Toon. Wouldn't cost a fortune, and could be trusted to do his job 110%. Where did you pick this one up Grame?

We are rumoured to have been watching two Ghent strikers - Wesley Sonck, and can't recall the other blerk's name. African lad I think.

The mackems were also rumoured to be interested in Sonck at one stage.

saw some highlights of Sonk today. Lad scored and had a part in Genks 2 other goals. He headed one on and the other he passed through. Looks quick and useful.

also has anyone else noticed where JDT's been linked with. None other than AC Milan and Real Madrid. Not bad for a bloke who got 2 goals for us one off his arse!

He's on a Bosman after failing to agree a new contract with Feyenoord (too high salary demands). He partnered Van Hooijdonk up front this season and they've been very effective: JDT 22 goals, Van Hooijdonk 31.

He's scored some great goals but can still somehow miss the easiest of chances.
