Come on you Wolves!

I have a vested interest in Wolves winning the play offs. IN 1893 Wolves won the FA cup in front of a pretty big crowd in Manchester (111,000 i believe) My grandad JOE BUTCHER was the centre forward for Wolves as they won 1-0. He was 17, he was also the Worlds best player (an accolade given to him by the Times) and until Whiteside played for Man U he had been the youngest medal winner. In fact there used to be a street named after him next to Molyneux until rebuilding work on the ground. So please, for me, cheer on the old golds in the pla

Nice story Swift. Wolves was my first "Favourite team" as they won the first FA Cup I really watched with interest (1960 vs Blackburn). As soon as I started to visit SJP of course Wolves were relegated to the "indifferent to" category along with all other teams. So in memory of Joe Butcher, your grandad (not great grandad? - that's a hell of an age to be your grandad) and Peter Broadbent my first football hero, I'll give the Wolves a shout during the playoffs.

I'm supporting Wolves as well. My husband to be (aaaagh!) is a Wolves supporter. I may have mentioned this before but when Kenny Hibbert played for Wolves, Midlands TV used to always show a picture of Terry instead!

Jonno - do you remember that lad at school who was an absolute Wolves nutter? Quite remarkable seeing as the lad had been born and bred in Blyth. His nickname was "Doog", after Derek Dougan. He was in my year but such a tw@t you couldn't have failed to notice him from your elevated position. Real name, David Harrison. Eeee - he's never crossed my mind since I left.

Has to be Wolves or Norwich for me. Cannot abide Brum fans or those brick hoyers from the (New) Den. Confine the lot of them to a mini league - with no promotion and relegation - with Cardiff and Chewsea and the world would be a far better place IMO

Hmmmmm. Can't say I recall "The Doog" at BGS Screach - remember the player well mind. I suspect that whilst he stood out to you as a nutter he was just another of the oiks in the year group below us who, quite frankly, ALL appeared to be nutters as I recall. :-))

The Midlands must be stopped from getting into the Premier League. Wolves are in the same category as Villa, Coventry, WBA, Brum City etc. It's bad enough Aston Villa being about...
