Does anyone know when the .58 version of the M7 is supposed to be available for sale?

According to the relatively informed Leica "specialist" at New York Camera and Video (actually located in Penn.) the .58's are promised for shipment to dealers in June. But he says that they were promised the first shipments of .72's in early March and are just now receiving them.

I'm waiting for a .58 as well....

My local dealer in the UK told me today that they are expected any day now and he's going to give me a ring when the first one arrives...I just wish they were doing the .58 in chrome!

Paul

I believe it likely that there will be a silver 0.58 at some stage.

Considering the order numbers:

10501 0.58 black 10502 10503 0.72 black 10504 0.72 silver 10505 0.85 black 10506

it seems to me that numbers have been allocated for future 0.58 silver and 0.85 silver cameras.

I'm just waiting for my dealer in the UK to get my 0.72 silver in!

That didn't come out like I expected. Try again:

10501 0.58 black

10502

10503 0.72 black

10504 0.72 silver

10505 0.85 black

10506

I hope that worked.

Worked? How do you mean 'worked'? If your goal was to bore us senseless, then yes,it worked.

Nigel - thanks for your help - I'll probably hold on to my twitching credit card a little longer as a result.

Nigel, nice investigative work. With Leica, it is always best to get what you want the first time, it's not a good brand for "gear churning."
