but is that the first time we've really killed a game for the last ten minutes having got what we needed? Well done lads. It wasn't exciting, but boy, did I enjoy it for what it was, a smack in the face for ther big boys next year. GOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNN!!!!!

Yes Bok, we did that quite well. The way we retained possession during that period is something I feel we need to use more often to control games. We have a tendency imo to be rather too 'gung ho', especially when we are winning games.

It helped that Blackburn seemed happy with a draw by that time. Neither side wanted to risk that valuable point.

It's exactly what I meant a few months back when I said we needed to learn to play for a draw. Got slammed by some for the idea at the time. Not such a bad idea now, is it? ;-))

Of course, we should always try to win, but there are times when it's better to get 1 point than none at all.

A point is ALWAYS better than none at all, but it`s worth noting that we have won a LOT of away games this season which might not have been the case had we shut up shop whenever we were on level terms.

So you'd have preferred us to keep attacking on Tuesday night and risk losing the match?

Or risk a Shearer hat-trick

Shearer knows when to go for it, and when to kill time. He's possibly our best player for holding the ball up in the corners. :-)

Easily our best player at holding the ball up at corners. Robert is pretty good at holding it up as well, but he'd probably shoot if he was next to the corner flag.
